Chatuchak, Check in and (imaginary) Churning Stomachs

Dim sum tastes just as good at 4.30am in Changi Airport. That was our early breakfast after a nice enough flight from Perth to Singapore on Tiger Airways. (It was an Airbus A320, just for the record.) Then it was a short hop in another Tiger A320 to Bangkok, and off to our first ever 5 star hotel: the Pathumwan Princess, adjoining the hallowed MBK shopping centre. Very nice indeed! Too early for our room to be ready so we headed off to Chatuchak Markets on the Skytrain. Very hot and very crowded, even for Chatuchak; took a few photos but didn't buy anything and frankly it was too sweltering to stay very long, so that might be it for Chatuchak this visit. At least we can say we've been.
Saving MBK for Plane Boy's actual birthday, we wandered back to the hotel and gorged ourselves on the impressive restaurant buffet, then crashed out for the afternoon in our room. Perhaps befuddled by her inconveniently timed headcold, Nerdia inexplicably forgot her neuroses and brushed her teeth with scheme water, which even the hotel says is unfit for drinking. She then spent the next 8 hours taking every stomach gurgle to be the coming of the apocalypse, though so far so good.
